Mercedes-Benz, a symbol of the term luxury when it comes to talking about cars. The company has come out with another elegant piece of tech that stretches from A pillar to A pillar.
Electrifying Elegance
This massive 56 inch curved glass dashboard houses in total 3 OLED panels behind the glass. OLED panels producing vibrant colors and pure blacks enable the screens to camouflage and be one with the glass panel giving the feeling that it’s not even there while not in use.
Beneath the glass panel there is a large 17.7-inch center infotainment system as well as a screen in front of the steering wheel for the driver that can be customized to your own liking.
For the front passenger Mercedes didn’t forget about you since they also added a wide 12.3-inch touchscreen that can also be personalized to your liking.
Vibrant OLED ambient lighting beneath the MBUX HyperScreen creates an effect as if the screen is floating.
According to the speed and G-force in the vehicle, the HyperScreen can adapt its color scheme and visual aspects in order to fit the mood you are in which Mercedes calls as “emotional intelligence.”
Personalized Artificial Intelligence
MBUX software on the HyperScreens allows for a “zero-layer interface” that seamlessly integrates all the features you need without the hassle of scrolling through menus.
Using machine learning and AI tech the HyperScreen with the MBUX system is dynamic for each user meaning the desired functions and appropriate content will be displayed at the correct time according to each user. Basically your car will learn what you want and what you like by taking in user interactions, GPS location, weather, calendar and other sources in order to provide you with a seamless and comfortable experience.
Example #1: An example of this integrated artificial intelligence is say if you make a phone call to your mom everyday before going to work at 7:30 am. After the first couple times the system will learn this task and therefore display this information on the HyperScreen before 7:30 am so you won’t forget to make the call
Example #2: Let’s say that you go on a small trip every Friday and you turn on the massage function once you enter the interstate. The MBUX system will take in this information and make sure that the next time you make this trip, the system will automatically turn on the massaging function before you even think about it.
Example #3: The Mercedes is equipped with an adaptive variable air suspension. So let’s say that before turning into someone’s steep driveway you raise the height of the vehicle to prevent damage. The MBUX AI system will take into consideration your location using GPS. As a result, your vehicle will autonomously raise the ride height before you drive up that steep driveway.
This HyperScreen and MBUX system actually brings about a glimpse for what the future of luxury has to hold.
Maybe one day hopefully soon we will be able to have one large OLED screen instead of 3 individual screens. Having one massive screen as a dash would really enable for so many more intuitive features besides the fact that it would look totally insanely amazing to say the least.
